The 10th International Workshop on Advanced Materials Science and Nanotechnology (IWAMSN) has been taken place on November 4 - 6, 2021 at Pan Pacific Hotel, Hanoi, Vietnam. During three conference days, we have welcomed 341 participants from 21 countries to attend 93 talks in total, including 3 plenary, 16 keynotes, 37 invited talks, and 37 oral presentations, as well as 170 posters in both face-to-face and online format. As can see from every single moment during the event, the participants truly enjoyed the presentations and were inspired by new ideas and results. We believe that all of us have obtained many informative and fruitful discussions.
On behalf of the Organizing Committees, we would like to thank our plenary speakers, keynote speakers, oral and poster presenters, as well as all participants either onsite or online, who have joined this conference for delivering such important materials so that all of us can deepen our knowledge. We would like to express our appreciation to all the committee members, sessional chairmen, and also the supporting team for organizing this conference and ensuring that it proceeded smoothly. We also extend our thanks to all sponsors for their unwavering generosity and continued support for IWAMSN 2021 and IWAMSN series.

GUIDELINES FOR CONFERENCE PARTICIPANTS

Dear all speakers and participants of the IWAMSN 2021,
We are delighted that you will be participating in the 10th International Workshop on Advanced Materials Science and Nanotechnology (IWAMSN 2021) in Pan Pacific Hotel, Hanoi, Vietnam from 4th to 6th of November 2021. We hereby want to provide you with some final information. Please note that all necessary and useful information can be found on the conference website www.iwamsn.ac.vn.
For urgent questions, you can contact the conference secretary via the hotline on the website.
1. Venue:
The IWAMSN 2021 venue, Pan Pacific Hotel, is located at No. 1 Thanh Nien street, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi, Vietnam. The venue can be conveniently reached by both public and private transportation.
The venue map is provided in the Programme & Abstracts ebook (via https://iwamsn.ac.vn/final-programme/) on page 17.
2. Registration:
The online registration will open until 12:00 (GMT+7) on November 6, 2021.
The onsite registration will take place at the Pacific Grand Ballroom lobby (2nd floor) of the conference venue (please refer to the venue map). Registration will begin on November 4 from 09:00 to 17:00 (GMT+7) until November 6, 2021.
At the registration desk, you will receive your conference badge, the Programme & Abstract Book, and lunch vouchers. The electronic version of IWAMSN 2021 Proceedings is available for registered participants on the conference website. Also at the registration desk, our organizing team members will be able to answer your questions at all times.
If you have registered online and paid for the conference fee, please bring proof of payment. It will fasten the registration process.
Please make sure to wear your conference badge at all times.
3. Meals:
At the registration, you will receive vouchers for the lunch meals being included in the conference package. Please hand your vouchers to the staff at the restaurant (West Lake room, 19th floor) when getting your meal. Please note that the conference vouchers are only usable for the conference restaurant mentioned above.
You can ask our staff for a list of restaurants in the surroundings if you decide to have an alternative option other than the restaurant of the conference center.
4. Program:
The full program of the conference is available online for all participants under this link: https://iwamsn.ac.vn/final-programme/ or on the abstract book distributed at the registration desk.
Online speakers and registered participants will receive an email with detailed instructions/information to join the online meeting on November 1, 2021.
5. Presentation:
Please make sure to check the online program for your scheduled presentation date, time, session, and presentation length. Please note your allocated presentation time includes time for questions and discussion.
Keynote and Invited Speakers will have 30 and 25 minutes for presentation, respectively. The oral presentation will be within 15 minutes.
All Poster Presenters are invited to submit their e-Poster via the conference website at https://iwamsn.ac.vn/e-poster-submission. Please refer to the guidelines for poster preparation before submission. Your e-poster will be printed and made ready for your onsite presentation without any additional cost.
Onsite Oral Presenters and Invited Speakers may be requested to provide us with their presentation slides in advance (up to 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the session) and as soon as possible (details will be informed at the registration desk).
You may want to use your own laptop. In such a case please make sure it has a VGA or HDMI socket for the video output signal.
In order to stay on track of time, please ensure that you start and end your presentation at the times indicated in the schedule.
6. Poster prizes:
The best poster presentation awards are given to the six best posters among about 170 ones presented at the conference. It rewards a combination of excellent research, innovation, and presentation. A panel of evaluators will select the best poster(s) from each of the four sessions. Poster winners will be recognized publicly at the closing ceremony and will receive a certificate with a monetary award.
The authors are sincerely requested to prepare their posters as best as possible.

POSTPONEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear all speakers and participants of the IWAMSN 2021,
The IWAMSN 2021 is scheduled to take place from August 18-20, 2021 in a hybrid format with both in-person and online versions. We are pleased to inform you that all required preparation for the IWAMSN 2021 has been completed.
Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic caused by the Delta variant is rapidly and unpredictably evolving in Vietnam, including Hanoi, for the last few weeks. A couple of days before, the Hanoi local government released the new and very strict regulations on events and gatherings so that our Workshop might have to be rescheduled if we still want it to be held in the hybrid format.
Taking local regulations into consideration while ensuring that the hard work of the organizers and all authors is not minimized by an alternative fully online version, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the IWAMSN 2021 from August 18-20, 2021 to November 4-6, 2021. The new date is selected based on the local authorizes’ advices for possible onsite activities.
We know that rescheduling the Workshop might cause inconvenience for all speakers and participants, especially for many of you whose agenda is already tight in November, but we trust your kind understanding and your support to IWAMSN 2021.
The abstract (not full text) submission will be re-opened to welcome more participants with poster presentations. We will also be sending a survey to all speakers to gather additional information for the new program. We will provide you with more details about IWAMSN 2021 over the next several weeks.

The IWAMSN 2021 organizing committee remains vigilant in its monitoring of the COVID-19 pandemic and will continue to prioritize the health, safety, and wellbeing of its attendees. Because of this, we would like to inform you that:
- The regular onsite poster session, which is originally scheduled for August 18, 2021 at Pan Pacific Grand Ballroom Lobby, will be replaced by the e-Poster session. Your posters then will be displayed virtually in the conference e-Poster platform from 17:00 August 18, 2021 to 16:00 August 20, 2021 and will be easily searchable via the presenter name, poster title, and ID. The conference e-Poster platform also allows presenters to interact with other participants by receiving and replying to comments/questions. - There will be the Best Poster Presentation Awards given to the six best posters electronically presented at the conference. It rewards a combination of excellent research, innovation, and response to comments/questions. A panel of evaluators will select the best poster(s) from each of the four sessions. Poster winners will be recognized publicly at the closing ceremony. The winners will receive a certificate and monetary award.
- The participants living outside Hanoi will participate and give their talks online. The Zoom link(s) to your session(s) will be shared with you via your registered email at least 24 hours before the session starts. Please make sure that you complete the online registration at https://iwamsn.ac.vn/signin. For more information and instructions to (invited and oral) speakers, please visit https://iwamsn.ac.vn/for-online-speakers. For online participants who already paid the onsite registration fee, a refund of the unused portion of your registration fees will be made within one month after the conference.
- The final instruction for participants living inside Hanoi will be announced on August 10, 2021, closely following the instructions from government authorities.

Till 22th of May 2021, we have received more than 250 abstracts from 18 countries including Japan, Korea, France, Belgium, United States, United Kingdom, India, Hongkong, Malaysia, Singapore, Belarus, Slovakia, Poland, Russia, Australia, Kazakhstan, Switzerland ... However, due to numerous requests, the IWAMSN 2021 organizing committee decided to extend the deadline for abstract submission until May 22nd, 2021. If you still have not done it, we invite you to give your contribution to this event, which is one of the important opportunities to get your work in front of the audience that matters most – the leading scientists, colleagues, potential collaborators, and industry representatives in the field.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we would like to warmly invite you to attend the 10th International Workshop on Advanced Materials Science and Nanotechnology (10th IWAMSN), which will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam from August 18th to 20th, 2021. The venue for the Workshop is the Pan Pacific Hanoi Hotel, which is beautifully located near West Lake and Truc Bach Lake. IWAMSN has been a major international scientific platform organized once every two years since 2000 to bring together international researchers from the diverse areas of advanced materials and nanotechnology as well as their applications in the industry and real world. With the emergence of COVID-19 in Vietnam in March 2020 as a part of the ongoing worldwide pandemic of coronavirus, the IWAMSN organizers decided to reschedule the 10th IWAMSN from November 2020 to August 18-20, 2021. The IWAMSN 2021 organizing committee remains vigilant in its monitoring of the COVID-19 pandemic and will continue to prioritize the health, safety, and wellbeing of its attendees. Because of this, the conference will be held in a hybrid format with both face-to-face and online versions to accommodate all participants.
The Workshop is co-organized by the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, the National Institute of Materials Science of Japan, and CNRS Institut Néel. The organization of the Workshop is also strongly supported by many professionals from different leading universities and institutes in the world.
Following the success of its nine editions, the 10th IWAMSN is the international forum for introducing, debating, and discussing burning issues in nanotechnology and advanced materials science. Moreover, it will be a unique chance for those who can attend face-to-face sessions to explore Hanoi - one of the most beautiful ancient-modern mixed capitals in the world, where one can find rich-cultural buildings, well-preserved ancient pagodas, delectable cuisine, and vibrant nightlife within the city center.

The 10th International Workshop on Advanced Materials Science and Nanotechnology (IWAMSN) Postponed to August 2021 due to COVID-19

Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the Institute of Materials Science – the organizer of IWAMSN series, I regret to inform you that we have made the very difficult decision to postpone the 10th IWAMSN originally scheduled for November 8–11, 2020 to August 2021 due to the ongoing situation of COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite the fact that Vietnam has successfully contained COVID-19 and goes nearly 70 consecutive days without new infection in the community. But the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam is part of the ongoing worldwide pandemic of coronavirus. Vietnam’s borders still remain closed to foreign visitors. Meanwhile, in many countries and regions, the governments recommend self-quarantine and many academic institutions have restricted employee travel, preventing many of our participants and speakers from attending the 10th IWAMSN in November 2020.
Protecting the health, safety, and well-being of our speakers, participants, staff, and supporters is paramount and serves as the reason for our decision to postpone the IWAMSN for the first time in our 20-year history. Put simply, we believe that rescheduling the 10th IWAMSN is the right thing to do during this time.
